I have been looked after by Direct Independent Care Limited (DICL) for about 27 years. My condition is Multiple Sclerosis (MS) which is a chronic, progressive disease of the Central Nervous System. My MS is a constant and gradual decline in ability with sudden, unpredictable relapses that require immediate intervention. The staff that take good care of me always have a smile on their faces and make time for a quick chat and laugh, no matter how busy they must be. They brighten up my life and make their visits so much more than a quick shower or a change of clothes.

Direct Independent Care have been looking after my mother since 2024. They have provided a consistent level of 24 hour care for her and have managed the situation very well. Their carers have all been professional, kind and efficient and our mother is happy. We cannot thank them enough for all they have done for us.

I cannot recommend Pat and her team more highly. Having tried several other care agencies. I was beginning to lose hope. Then I found Direct Independent Care!! Pat and her team were our saviours. They look after Mum, who had advanced lewy body dementia (And which has some very demanding symptoms) like she is their own.

Pat took time to get to know Mum and we now have the most amazing team. Mum is surrounded by those that truly care about her. Pat and he team are true professionals. As we continue on this sometimes very difficult and emotional journey they are our support., a fountain of knowledge, and sometimes our shoulder to cry on.

My mum is being cared for by a team of great carers both Day & Night with one to one care. Most of the team have worked with the company for a long time so work well as a team. Messages & updates at handover are verbally & written so all very well co-ordinated. They Care very well for my mum with washing, meals, encouragement, companionship. Provided by a upbeat & positive vibe. They also take care of the household tasks, stock checking for food & cleaning supplies etc. Over seeing that medication is in order eg. stock, supply, dealing with doctors prescriptions & chemists to ensure mum the correct medication administered. I can visit my mum as a daughter and have peace that she is taken care of 😊 oh & they all seem to like dogs, which means i can take mine with me sometimes when i am visiting. Thank you. I did use a previous agency who we did not have a good experience with, so to get this type of service makes me really appreciate this company. Thank you.

My 78 year old uncle with complex needs has had care delivered by Direct Independent care for over 10 years. Both my uncle and myself have found that the company and the carers very professional, trustworthy. All the carers both day and night have been calm, patient, compassionate, helpful, experienced, good humoured and kind. Maintaining ‘Uncles dignity at all times Nothing is too much trouble, in meeting my Uncle changing needs. Carers are regularly sent on appropriate training refresher courses DICL –have gone and go above and beyond to provide not only practical, physical but also emotional support to help my uncle to remain in his own home.
